Scor-Pal More than One Score Challenge #30 - Card Cards and More Cards

Welcome to the 23rd Monthly Challenge here at Scor-Pal!
We love showing our projects to you and now it's your chance to show your creations to us!
Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score"
We have a very current theme this month, "Cards! and More Than One Score".
Please note that you MUST include the theme as well as "More Than One Score", some people are not following the theme and therefore are not eligible for a Top 3 spot or the Prize, thanks. We have a nice set of samples from the Design Team, just click on their names to go to their blogs for more details on their creations.
The challenge ends at 10pm on September 30th and the new one starts on October 1st.
This months featured Design Team member is Lois so please go and take a look at her blog for a more detailed post on her project.

I'm the hostess for the Scor-Pal Blog this month.  Our theme is "cards, cards, and more cards," so I thought that a bag for holding lots of cards might be appropriate for the challenge.  I've made a Buckle Bag Card Holder and four cards.

The supplies needed for the basic buckle bag are:  12" x 12" sturdy cardstock, patterned paper, Scor-Pal, paper trimmer, ink, Word Window punch, Scor-Tape, tape runner, stamps, dies, ruler, scissors, pencil, and large button.

Cut the cardstock to 10" x 10".  Put 2" strips aside to use later.

Score one side of the cardstock at 2" and 8".  Rotate 90 degrees and score at 4" and 6".

Using your scissors, cut wedges on each side at the 4" and 6" score lines, creating flaps.  Fold on score lines; then lay flat.

Place Scor-Tape on the two small flaps and the bottom flaps, as shown.

Turn over, fold the two small flaps up, and remove tape.  Adhesive should be facing outward.  Fold in the two taped flaps and adhere to small flaps.

Fold up the two untaped flaps and adhere to taped flaps to create box.

Cut patterned paper into two 8 1/2" x 1" strips.

Cut patterned paper to 4" x 4".

Place the square into the paper trimmer diagonally, with the two points on the trimmer groove.  Cut into two triangles.   Adhere one triangle on the front of the box and the other on the back.  Adhere the 1" strips along the bottom of the box, all the way around.

Create the buckle from one of the 2" strips of cardstock.  Measure in 1" along the top and 1" down on each side.

Using the scissors, snip the end of the strip.

Apply two pieces of Scor-Tape at the straight end of the strip.

Adhere straight end of strap to the inside center of the box, as shown.

Adhere the button with Scor-Tape to the V end of the strip.

Bring strap across and place on the patterned paper where the buckle will close.  Mark each side of the strap with pencil for placement.  Draw a light line between the two marks.

Use the Word Window punch to create an opening for the buckle strap, using the pencil line as a guide.

Slide the punch over to the second mark and punch.

Decorate the box as desired and slide the buckle through the slot to close the bag.  Create cards to accompany the bag.

Here is my completed buckle bag with the four coordinating cards.

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's August 1st and time for another Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge.  Our theme for this month is "All About Birthdays".  The timing of this challenge is perfect for me because I have so many friends and family members with July birthdays that my stash is wiped out!  Let's get started with my Scored Circle Birthday card.
For this project, you will need:
  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • One 4 1/4" x 8 1/2"" piece of card stock
  • One 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" piece of card stock
  • One 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" piece of card stock
  • One 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" piece of card stock
  • Three kinds of double sided patterned paper
  • One 1 5/8" circle die or punch
  • Heart die or punch
  • Paper snips
  • Stamps
  • Ink
  • Dimensional adhesive
  • Embellishments as desired
After die-cutting or punching three circles from each pattern, place a circle in your Scor-Pal as shown. Score at 1/4". Rotate 90 degrees and score at 1/4" again. Do this two more times so that you have a scored square inside your circle. (Tip: Be sure to place the pattern face down that you want to peek out of the circle.)
Burnish the folds on all four sides. Repeat the previous step and this step for the remaining pattern paper circles.
Line the 3 3/8" by 3 3/8" piece of card stock with Scor-Tape.
Remove the adhesive backing on the Scor-Tape and adhere the scored circles to the card stock. Make sure that the sides are touching.
Continue to remove adhesive backing and line up scored circles until card stock is filled. Mat this layer on top of the 3 5/8" by 3 5/8" piece of card stock.
Continue with mats and embellish as desired.  This card is matted one more time with a 3 7/8' by 3 7/8" piece of card stock and then mounted on a 4 1/4" square card base. The heart was punched from some card stock and stamped with a delicate pattern. The sentiment was stamped on a 3/8" strip of card stock. The strip was adhered to the back of the heart and the opposite end was forked with paper snips. A small bow of baker's twine was tied and attached to the top of the heart. Finally, the heart and sentiment strip were attached with dimensional adhesive to the scored circle layer.
This concludes my tutorial for the August More Than One Score Challenge.

Details: Stamps: Happy Banner (MFT), Bubble Talk (PTI); Paper: Whisper White, Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Hopscotch Fancy Pants Designer Paper; Ink: Tuxedo Black, Versamark; Accessories: Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, Spellbinders Circle dies, heart punch, paper snips, baker's twine, mini glue dots, stampin' dimensionals.

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm hosting our "More than one Score" monthly challenge over at the Scor-Pal blog!  This month's theme is "Fun in the Summer Sun" and I sure had fun making my project!  Check it out!

Isn't that so fun and refreshing?!  In this summer heat, you can't beat the refreshing feel of yummy watermelon!  I created a fun mini gift bag to house a card and gift certificate.  You can think of it as an embellished alternative to you ordinary envelope!  ;)

Instructions

 1. Cut a sheet of pattern paper to 6 1/4" x 12".  Using your Scor-Pal, score at 4 1/2", 5 1/2", 10" and 11", as shown below.

2. Turn paper vertically and score at 3/4".

 3. Fold along the score lines, then cut on those lines up to the 3/4" scored line to create bottom flaps, as picture below.

4. With the opposite pattern showing, score in the middle of the one inch section created, then fold on those lines.

5. Add Scor-Tape to the front of the side flap.

6. Turn paper over and fold taped flap in, as shown below.

(I added another strip of Scor-Tape to the edge.)

7. Peel off Scor-Tape backing and adhere sides together as pictured below.

8) Open up the bag to give its shape.

9) Add Scor-Tape to one of the bottom flaps and adhere to close.

Voila! Now it is ready to embellish!

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure to visit the Scor-Pal blog and play along!
