May Arts and Scor-pal with Tya Smith

Hi there -Tya here with my take on using the beautiful and yummy ribbons from May Arts on a project using my Scor-pal! I am such a ribbon fanatic - this was a match made in heaven for me!
With the school year wrapping up I decided to make a fun little teacher appreciation gift for my children's school teachers. I decided to do my take on a pull out treat box. I thought this was a great way to highlight the ribbon! And who doesn't love M&M's right?

M&M Pull Treat Box
Supplies:
Back piece of box  3 1/2 x 7 inch paper or acetate (Piece A)
Front piece of box 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch paper or acetate (Piece B)
2 x 6 3/4 piece of cardstock for belly band
(2) 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 pieces of cardstock for belly band
(2) 2 x 2 1/4 pieces of pattern paper for belly band
(Paper I used is from My Minds Eye Collectable 6x6 pad)
1 yard of Ribbon ( I used this Red Sheer Line Ribbon from May Arts)
Tag made with Silhouette Machine
3/8 inch hole punch
M&M's or other similar candy in a bag

Just a note- I used acetate for my box base, but for tutorial purposes, I used a piece of white cardstock.

Step 1-Score the Back of the box piece (Piece A)  ½ inch on 3 sides (2 long sides and 1 short side)

Step 2- Score the Front of the box piece (Piece B)  ½ inch on 3 sides (2 long sides and 1 short side)

Step 3-Snip 2 bottom sections on both black cardstock pieces and adhere to make the bottom of the box.

Add adhesive to outer edges of the tall back section of box and then slide the small front section to the outside of the longer piece.

Step 4-Punch hole in front section of box.
Punch 2 holes in top and bottom of candy bag. Run ribbon from the bottom hole through to the top hole.

Step 5-Take bottom ribbon and pull it through the hole in the front of the box and stuff the candy to the inside of the box.

Step 6- Make the belly band. For the base you will need the 2 x 6 2/4 piece of paper. Score this paper at 1/2 inch, 1 inch , at the triangle mark right after the 3 1/2 inch mark and at 4 1/4 inches. Fold around the box and adhere in the back.
Add the cardstock and pattern papers shown below to the front and the back of the belly band as shown.

Step 7-
Add a decorative tag and tie the ribbon to complete the project.
